Coasts from space
Coasts from space is a temporary exhibition with a selection of images of different coastal areas of the planet, captured by the Sentinel-2 satellites. An invitation to enjoy the oceans and seas that surround us through scientific photographs, full of light and color. Among the works can be seen the Bay of Cadiz, the Mar Menor or the Ebro Delta, as well as other more exotic areas such as the Persian Gulf, the Philippine Islands or the Bahamas.

The approach to these natural environments from space, from a satellite view and through a broader perspective, allows us to approach and understand the current situation of these areas of the planet and their vulnerability due to factors such as pollution, rising sea levels or the presence of invasive species. The exhibition, curated by Isabel Caballero, researcher at the Institute of Marine Sciences of Andalusia of the CSIC, and by the Deputy Vice President of Scientific Culture of the CSIC, is part of the Decade of the Oceans, proclaimed by UNESCO, and also aims to raise environmental awareness and the importance of their protection and preservation.
Coasts from space will be open at Carol Iglesias Espazioa until September 10, 2023.
Admission will be free.
