The Gabarra Athletic (Barge Athletic) exhibition is a graphic testimony that invites you to relive, remember or discover the importance of a historic event, closely linked to our maritime and port history.

Composed of 42 striking images, it is a visual journey through the historical and social context in which the Gabarra (barge) goes up the estuary for the first time to celebrate an Athletic Club victory, as well as the three celebrations that have contributed to the generation of a unique symbol very loved in Bizkaia.

Divided into 6 sections: A barge form Bilbao; More than football; The 80s, the harshness of the crisis and the joys of Athletic; 1983. From barge to Athletic barge; 1984. Champion, champion, champion; and The barge again, an emotional text written by Kirmen Uribe, one of the greatest exponents of Basque culture in the world and a dedicated Athletizale.

Gabarra Athletic is a travelling exhibition that will tour different towns in Bizkaia and is sponsored by the BBK Foundation in its commitment to culture and sport.
