GYOTAKU

“Direct Gyotaku” looks at an age-old Japanese artistic technique that consists of making prints of fish using the fish themselves as printing blocks or templates, with ink and paper. The exhibition sets out to showcase the marine diversity of the Bay of Biscay through art.

Following in his footsteps

"J. S. Elkano. Following his footsteps" takes an in-depth look at the biography of Juan Sebastián Elkano (1487/88-1526) and takes visitors along his life path before, during and after the first circumnavigation of the globe, which he began 500 years ago in a search for a new route to the Spice Islands..
