Itsasmuseum is in the centre of Bilbao, a city which has become a major international tourist destination in recent years. Other attractions just a few minutes’ walk away include the Guggenheim Museum, the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, the Sala Rekalde gallery and the Azkuna Zentroa cultural centre. A stroll along the river takes you to the original Old Town, which is still the nerve centre of Bilbao.
The Nave 9 [“Hall 9”] cafeteria is run by Carlos Romero, a renowned figure in the Bilbao music scene, who also programmes the music at Itsasmuseum.
Apart from its role as a cafeteria, Nave 9 also provides customised catering services for many of the corporate events staged at Itsasmuseum.
The museum features a new kind of gift shop, located in the atrium by the ticket office. Visitors can purchase personalised items and publications released by Itsasmuseum as part of its remit to extend knowledge of maritime matters.
